As you make your way across Zeta Halo in Halo Infinite’s campaign, you’re going to come across a bunch of areas where you’ll find some collectibles, rare weapons, or objectives locked away behind an energy shield door. No matter how much you fire at these, they won’t break, but there is a way to disable them entirely so you can get your hands on whatever’s on the other side. Here’s how to disable energy shield doors in Halo Infinite.
By energy shield doors, we’re talking about the big orange barriers that’ll often appear indoors in doorways or arches. They have a honeycomb-like design across the yellow/ orange barrier section and you can’t shoot them down.
Disabling Energy Shield Doors in Halo Infinite
To disable energy shield doors, you need to destroy the power generator or battery that it’s tied to. Press down on your d-pad to use your Ordnance ability, and this should reveal a yellow line running from the energy shield door to a battery or something attached to the wall, as shown in the screenshot below.
These can often be found nearby, but sometimes will be out of reach, such as directly above the energy shield door on a small platform that you’ll need to grapple up to.
When you find the power source, simply shoot at it with your weapons (or throw a sticky grenade to get it done even quicker) and it’ll explode, disabling the energy shield door and allowing you to carry on through.
Sometimes these power sources can be on the other side of the energy shield door you’re trying to get past. When you find one of these, it normally means you’ve got to find another way inside, so be sure to check your surroundings.
