How to Get Healing Factor Mutation in Fallout 76

Traversing the wasteland of Fallout 76’s West Virginia setting exposes your character to some serious radioactivity. If you hang about too long in particularly radioactive areas, in fact, you’ll develop a mutation. Here’s how to get Healing Factor Mutation in Fallout 76.

In brief, Mutations are basically another form of Traits, which you’ll probably remember from previous Fallout games. Except for this time, you’ll contract the trait by exposing your character to radioactivity.

Instances include drinking unpurified water, standing close to petrified Scorched corpses, swimming in water, and standing next to radioactive waste.

Healing Factor is a particularly appealing Mutation, as it grants +300% health regeneration, -55% chem effects.

Unfortunately, the Mutations that your character will develop are completely random, so there’s actually no way of guaranteeing that you’ll get Healing Factor.

That being said, there is a way to make sure that once your character has developed this Mutation, they’ll keep it permanently.

To do so, you’ll need to first develop the Healing Factor Mutation and then:

  • Upgrade the Starched Genes Perk to Rank 2, which ensures that Radaway will not cure mutations.
  • Upgrading the Starched Genes Perk to Rank 2, which prevents any new mutation from developing, therefore ensuring that you’ll not lose your Healing Factor.
  • That’s all you need to know about how to get Healing Factor Mutation in Fallout 76. For more useful information on the game, be sure to search our extensive wiki page.
